Kate is Put Through her Paces Playing Volleyball for SportsAid

Today, the Duchess carried out her first solo engagement since giving birth to Prince George in July. She visited Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, East London, to see young athletes being taught volleyball, badminton and wheelchair basketball by the charity SportsAid of which she is Patron.

On her arrival she was greeted by Tim Lawler, chief executive of SportsAid, who then introduced her to a selection of its trustees.

Then it was straight down into the Copper Box arena where Kate met Olympians and Paralympians including rowing gold medallist Katherine Grainger, wheelchair basketball player and TV presenter Ade Adepitan and swimmer Karen Pickering.

The visit is the Duchess’s first engagement with SportsAid since she became its Patron in April. She was keen to meet the athletes it was helping and get a detailed insight into the challenges they face.

The charity, was set up in 1976 and helped two out of three athletes who made up TeamGB at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. It pays for essential costs including travel and accommodation when they are competing.

She completed her look with her favorite Stuart Weitzman 'Corkswoon' wedges ($375) and Kiki McDonough Grace earrings. Her brunette locks were worn down with a slight curl.
