The Cambridge's have strong family ties to the church as this is where Princess Diana was baptized on August 30, 1961.

Charlotte will wear the same royal silk and lace christening gown as George. It is an exact replica of the 1841 christening gown commissioned by the Queen in 2004. It was made by Angela Kelly, the personal assistant and senior dresser to the Queen. After the baptism of Lady Louise Windsor in 2004, it was decided the ancient garment was too delicate to be used again.

***Interesting fact*** Both William and Kate's children will have a baptismal link to Diana, as Prince George was christened in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace, where the Princess’s body lay before her funeral in 1997.
